The Program
Since 1990 Southwest Montessori School has occupied its own intimate-sized building in a convenient location. The space is well suited for a Montessori learning environment.
Curriculum In addition to the Montessori materials themes of study are stated in the monthly newsletter. A weekly schedule (even more detailed) is posted for parents. Themes take many different forms: nature, holiday, history, etc. They are expressed in appropriate developmental and multidisciplinary approaches.
Enrichment Classes
Music classes are offered twice a week, one morning and one afternoon class. French language classes are also offered twice a week. These enrichment classes are included in the monthly tuition.
Kindergarten Classes
A daily half hour small group (7-8 children) lesson plan is implemented for instruction in either reading, math, geography, science, social studies, literature and hand work.
Before and after school child care is available with a variety of activities for the children.
